We've had a lot of people ask this question and as we are actively designing a better solution to alleviate the confusion.
In the meantime, here's why.
The intent was that the Top Left input is a place to ask EACH of your documents. So if you upload 5 files, when you ask a question like "Who authored this?", 5 different answers would present separately on each document card/row. When you ask a new question, the answer will replace the previous one.
This is especially useful for comparisons and summaries where you want to investigate and talk to your documents quickly.
However, once you've found a document that's 'juicy' and you want to really get into it, you would select it and ask on the Bottom Right. This would allow you to focus on ONE selected file and keep a thread of the Q&A as you go along in the Notes. Ready to switch to another file? No problem, just select it and continue to ask right there.
We thought it was clever to allow you to see both sides and switch between them easily. Let us know what you think! SHARE FEEDBACK
